A few things worth knowing
Matching costs you nothing
Your employer makes a separate gift of its own. You are not asked for another dollar.
Retirees and spouses often qualify
Many programs extend to retired employees and to the spouses of employees. It is worth checking even if you no longer work there.
Deadlines are real
Most companies close the window a few months after the gift, or at the end of the calendar year. Submitting soon after you give is the safest habit.
